GARY CARMAN
PASTOR TO SENIORS

Gary Carman has his B.A. and Masters degree in education. He was a teacher and administrator in Iowa from 1959 to 1975. The Lord then called him into Christian Education where he served as teacher and administrator at various schools until his retirement from Christian Academy in June of 2007. During the 1959-2004 years he served as a deacon, elder, children and adult Sunday school teacher and pastoral staff member. Gary is licensed in the Conservative Baptist Association by First Baptist Church and in the Independent Fundamental Churches of America by Dubuque Bible Church of Dubuque, Iowa.
He served on First Baptist Church pastoral staff from 1986-2004. Gary assisted during the interim between the ministries of Pastors Tom Thompson and John Doyel, and was called as Interim Executive Pastor between the ministries of Pastors John Doyel and Dennis Beatty. Since his "retirement" in 2004 Gary served one year with Titus Ministries as Interim Pastor at Flagstaff Evangelical Free Church, then as Interim Pastor at Bethel Baptist Church in Prescott Valley. In October of 2006, the First Baptist Church congregation again called Gary as Interim Executive Pastor where he served until March 2008. Presently, he is Senior Adults Pastor at First Baptist Church.
Gary and his wife, Karen (longtime First Baptist Church Office Manager) have been married nearly 49 years and are 22-year residents of Precott. Their son, Tim, and his family live in Iowa. Daughter, Tammi (Smith) and husband, Rick, are FBC members and live in Chino Valley.
