From Karl's latest newsletter...dated December 14...It's been about a month since I've been here, but there's a lot of things that have happened. We've gotten involved in a number of English classes and conversational clubs. We can talk here openly about being Christian and they're very open to talking about spiritual matters, but it seems to be more of a cultural exchange to them. In the past few weeks I've met people who pass out tracts, who openly evangelize, who do all kinds of things...but I've also met with a strong concern for safety, and I'm still figuring out where the line is drawn. The last few weeks have been enlightening. It's strange how safe it feels here, and how welcoming the people are. This is really a crossroads to all kind of cultures and the door is open to project influence an all directions. "On a personal level I am seeing what it is that gets to me, and that I don't really feel daunted by physical setbacks. I have to go, but know that I love you all, and covet your prayers.
