Ministry Placement Service

This ministry helps Christians follow 3 steps in the process of placement

The first step is Discovery, which involves homework, and one all day seminar. The second step is Consultation where five areas are reviewed: Ministry Passion, Spiritual Gifts, Personal Style, Spiritual Maturity, and Ministry Availability. The third step is the selected area of Service which fits the believer's profile.

The goal is for the right people to be in the right places for the right reasons at First Baptist Church.

L.I.F.E Groups

Small groups of people gathering in homes in the tri-city area to promote the spiritual growth and belonging of each individual.

We gather in His name to Fellowship - Bible Study - Pray for one another. The goal of the home Growth Groups is to provide a small group setting where people are comfortable to participate in a Bible study and to share their joys and needs with each other. There is an empty chair waiting for you.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are lay members of our congregation who have undergone 50 hours of instruction in care giving. They meet twice a month for on-going equipping and support.

They minister to one care-receiver one hour a week, one-on- one, who is experiencing such stresses as: terminal illness, retirement, unemployment, divorce, depression, loss of a loved one, separation, plus many other needs.

A Referrals Coordinator will explain questions and match a Stephen Minister to a specific need. Confidentiality is maintained at all times. No problem is too small to receive help.

Jail Team

Showing the love of Jesus to those who are incarcerated. A team of dedicated men meet regularly at the local jail to minister to the inmates by: Sharing testimonies, leading Bible studies, distributing Bibles and Christian literature, and supporting the families.

Evangelism, baptisms and discipleship are the goals of this team

I - Witness

The I - Witness ministry uses Evangelism Explosion materials in a 13 week training program. This training is for those who have decided to be obedient to the Great Commission by sharing the gospel in a friendly, non-threatening way.

The time required will be 5-10 hours a week for the 13 weeks of the semester. The cost for the training manual is $30. Successful completion of the training is very rewarding because it includes modeling witnessing by a mentor and on-the-job training.

Evangelism Follow-up

This ministry cooperates with other ministries in the church engaged in evangelism.

After an initial visit for assurance of salvation, the new believer is invited to a helpful one-on-one discipleship ministry. The discipleship materials cover these topics: Attributes of God, The Bible, Prayer, Spirit-filled life, Fellowship, Witnessing, Temptation, Obedience.

The leader in this one-on-one discipling gives specific assignments that require a significant investment of time and study.

Crown Ministries

Crown Bible Financial Studies and Budget Counseling present both spiritual and practical applications to teach people to be better stewards of God's provision.

The 12-week studies are formed twice annually. Confidential and free counseling is available upon request.
